Dr. Stergios Skaperdas is Professor of Economics at the University of California, Irvine. Born in Greece, he was awarded a BA in Economics from Reed College and MA and PhD degrees, also in Economics, from Johns Hopkins University. He has received numerous academic distinctions and is a member of many think tanks. His research has been published in various economics and political science journals. Dr. Skaperdas' recent New York Times article, “ How to Leave the Euro ,” promotes the idea that the sooner Greece leaves the Euro, the better for its economy.
